Long Lost

What better thing to do this Valentine’s Day than to cozy up with the one thing in life that won’t let you down, a good book?  Off to Starbucks I went this afternoon armed with the latest Harlan Coben book, Long Lost.  As a fan of the Myron Bolitar series, Long Lost doesn’t fall short of expectations.  It’s a thrilling page-turner that keeps you wondering what is going to happen next, with an ending that will only surprise you.  The story starts off with Myron Bolitar receiving a call from Terese, a hot fling from years before, requesting his presence in Paris which he denies.  One event leads to another and within 24 hours he’s on a plane to Paris.  Hours after his arrival they are arrested and she is a suspect in the murder of her ex-husband.  And learns her daughter, killed ten years previously in a car accident could actually still be alive.

Through a series of twists and turns, this story combines Homeland Security, French Police, Interpol, and Mossad (Israeli version of the CIA).  Then add in a right-wing pro-life organization and a mysterious blond teenage girl, who turns up throughout the book, one can only wonder where this book will lead you next.  I want to tell you so much about this book but it will give it all away.  This isn’t a book of life’s lessons but an action filled one that makes you want to read the whole book in one sitting, or at least 75% of it like I did.
